We were created by God to be in relationship with Him. It has always been for His glory we were created. The Bible gives us two very significant and beautiful illustrations to the kind of relationship He desires to have with us. In the Bible – God’s Holy Word, it says that God wants to be a Heavenly Father to us. In today’s society where earthly fathers often fall very short of caring for and nurturing their children, God is faithful. He desires to have the kind of loving relationship with us that a devoted father would have with his children.

A second illustration to the kind of relationship God desires to have with us is that of the kind of loving relationship found in a faithful marriage. God views the Church as His precious bride! As a husband is to love his wife, God loves us with an indescribable love. God loves us so much that He was willing to give His Son to die in our place so that we could have life everlasting with Him in His eternal Kingdom. After paying the price for our sins, God raised His Son from the grave. Today He reigns in His Father’s Kingdom as the King of kings and the Lord of lords. As in a good marriage, God is faithful. The Bible says He will never leave or forsake us. He is faithful, and He desires for us to be His faithful bride.

God created us to be in relationship with Him. This is why we were created. It is for this purpose we exist, and it is in this that we will find life’s richest fulfillment. As true followers of Jesus Christ we cannot but learn to love as God continues to loves us. Our hearts and our lives are changed as we continually follow Him. The Bible speaks very clearly that God will send His Son – Jesus Christ to take those who accept and follow Him to live eternal lives with Him in His Kingdom, where we will ultimately fulfill the purpose for which we were created.

God has given us the freedom and the choice to choose and follow Him. Just as love cannot be forced upon any person, God is looking for those who love Him and would receive His gift of love through Jesus Christ. The choice is ours to make!
