Associate of Biblical Studies - Ed Amburgy

Ed’s Bio: I grew up and graduated from Beavercreek High School located in a suburb of Dayton, Ohio. After graduation, I spent four years in the United States Air Force. Most of my time was spent overseas in Okinawa, Korea, Thailand, and Viet Nam. After my discharge, I married a wonderful woman Vickie Swallow and we had two children. Jenny is a graduate of Ball State University and Mark is a graduate of Purdue University. Vickie has since passed on to be with the Lord. She was a great influence on my life and encouraged me to continue my education. I graduated with an Associate degree in Computer Science from Sinclair Community College and then went on to earn my BS degree from Wright State University. During this time I was Data Processing Manger for McCauley Accessory, a division of Cessna Aircraft Company and also earned my private pilot’s license which later included an instrument rating. I also volunteered as a command pilot for the Civil Air Patrol. In 1986 I accepted an IT Mangers position and relocated to Indianapolis. Here I earned my MBA from Butler University. For a couple of years I taught night school for Wesleyan University along with my day job. Most of the courses taught were Management and Computer Science. I have been teaching adult Sunday school and small group bible studies since 1984.

Open Door Church has numerous volunteers and workers fulfilling their spiritual gifts and talents. We are adamant in making our church environment safe for all who enter our doors. Our classrooms have doors with windows. Our classrooms are also equipped with video cameras to help ensure the safety of our children. Those who work with our children and youth must first complete a comprehensive background check. We are also very resolute in placing people to serve where they are spiritually gifted. We are eager to serve and glad for opportunities to show God’s love to others.
